TITLE: "Designated Hebrew: The Ron Blomberg Story"

HISTORY: Drafted by the New York Yankees in the 1st round (1st pick) of the 1967 amateur draft, Ron Blomberg has led a life that some would say impossible. Given an honorary spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame because of his legendary title of the first Designated Hitter (DH) in baseball history.
His story is one of overcoming the odds that life throws at you and never letting something block him from achieving your dream.
As a child dreaming of being a New York Yankee the odds seemed stacked high for this young Jewish boy from the Deep South. Yet, the odds he overcame, becoming a legend in his own right and achieving his own spot with the legends in Cooperstown, NY.
The message is simple. As Ron puts it, "Hell – if I can do it, anyone can."
